Public Open House

On Thursday evening, approximately 65 people gathered at Jena Town Hall to watch Lee Einsweiler of Code Studio present the outline for the proposed Town Plan. A series of community-wide planning concepts were also presented along with a recap of the material prepared during the charrette week. To view a copy of the presentation click here.

The Town of Jena was one of five communities chosen by the Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX) in August 2008 to participate in the Community Planning Program. CPEX awarded the Town $80,000 in seed funding, which the town matched. The Town of Jena hired a consultant team led by Code Studio to develop the community's first ever town plan "Jena's Vision." CPEX staff will also provide technical assistance to aid in the planning effort.

The Town Plan will guide future growth and development. It will address several different elements such as land use, housing, transportation, downtown development and design, infrastructure, drainage, and open space conservation.
